2022 Bonnies Rock It Tee - My 1st Garment Knit

Start Date:  January 17, 2022
Finish Date: February 15, 2022

During a recent visit to my favorite yarn shop, Three Loves Yarn, I came across this beautiful yarn that just spoke to me. Not just a whisper but a big OMG you have to make me into something beautiful! I instantly thought of the Rock It Tee that I had saved to my must make list. So sweet Jessie wound it up and home this yarn came with me! I cannot wait to see how the blend of colors comes out on this tee!

The supplies I am using are:

I made my first swatch and it came out perfectly sized to the pattern. I am tickled!

I CAN'T EVEN! Wow, Wow, Wow!!! I cannot even express how excited I am after stepping back and really taking a look at how far I have come on this. AND that it actually looks like a shirt!! I slipped it onto a super long circular needle that I had (so I wouldn't drop stitches) and tried it on and IT FITS TOO!!! OMGoodness I am in awe and so excited!!!

As I stepped back to do the icord sleeves and neckline I found that I was really not liking the result. I personally do not like a fabric of any kind that continuously wants to roll. I thought it might be just my knitting tightness but as I look back at the pattern picture I see her tee is curling as well. hmmm don't like that. So, I am altering to make my own version of this tee. I have decided to do a stretchy rib stitch at the sleeves, a crochet neckline and when I reach the bottom of the tee I am doing to do a stretchy rib there too.

I like my shirts a bit longer than the pattern called for so I knit until I reached 21" from the bottom of the sleeve, then added about 1 1/4" of KKP ribbing.

It fits perfectly! I am still so amazed that I made this shirt! I see a few more in my future for sure!

I recommend Always Shopping Local First.  Since I started shopping local all of my creations have come to mean so much more to me personally. The people I have met and all I have learned, that would never have happened solely online. Even if you are an introvert, like I am, I never feel out of place or like an outsider at my local shops. When you find the right shop, you know it, because, you are treated like family. Plus, once they know your creative style they are so helpful when it comes to ideas, help, learning, special orders and more. Don't miss out on all those happy smiles and hellos from shop owners, employees and fellow creators like yourself.
