2022 Bonnies Modern Lodge Quilt - 2nd Quilt Top of the Year

Starting this year off participating in a quilt along with my favorite ladies at JK Quilts. After starting the "very patchworky" blocks of Mary Elizabeth Brightly quilt I was overwhelmed with the business and the randomness of the fabrics. So, I placed it in time out for a moment and rethought the quilt. I needed a more structured sense of color. I had lots of this fabric left over from a quilt I made for my granddaughter last year so I decided to use it and see where it took me. The #brightlychallenge is to have the quilt top finished by the end of January 2022 and share the progress on facebook & instagram. Here is to round #2 Brightly.

The supplies I am using are:

• Brightly Quilt Pattern by Cluck Cluck Sew
• Bernatex Modern Lodge fabric collection
• The background fabric is Robert Koffman Essex Linen #308 
• The thread is Deco-Bob Wonderful #DB115 Taupe

No special rulers or notions are required for this quilt. But I did use the perfect 5 ruler 

For this quilt I decided to cut my pieces slightly larger so that after each section of a block was stitched, I could trim it to the exact size it needed to be. I also decided to alter the pattern slightly by making my finished squares 5" instead of 4.5". I also decided to add a border around the outside to bring this quilt to a queen size.
